Tasting notes:
Color: Those pennies that Bubby used to dig out of her purse when she thought she was hooking you up.
Nose: The label says cherry and the nose says root beer float. There’s some cinnamon and nutmeg too.
Palate: The pride of Lawrenceburg, IN shines right with classic MGP bourbon notes of cherry, thick caramel and vanilla. The middle of the palate hangs in that same spot. It’s gets really interesting in the back of the palate where syrupy fruity mix hits really hard and hangs around. It’s not cloying, nor is it offensive or overly sweet. It’s still whiskey. But it’s a unique note and one that’s rarely experienced in other bourbons.
Finish: MGP bourbon tends to hang around for a while and coat the palate well. This is no exception.
